Had a short meeting with both dierectors of the infrastructure department to discuss what we had learned from the 12 weeks of training.

Bid farewell to all the other staffs in Zaidun-Leeng and thanked them for all the patience they gave us and knowledge they could share with us.

~24th June 2010~

Followed Mr. Law to landfill for the monthly site meeting at Sua Betong, Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.

I also went to Bukit Palong landfill closure site for site inspection of works done on site.

~23rd June 2010~

Did colouring and folding for a project's drawing before submission to the local authority.

~22nd June 2010~

Went to do site reconnaissance survery at Kota Damansara. A total of 3 locations have been surveyed:-
a) A stream that was proposed to be converted into a large main pond.
b) 2 ponds that to be desilted.


We took photos of the surroundings and identify any problems that might/will occur during construction.

~21 June 2010~

 Prepared the landfill site visits report for final report of Industrial Training.

Requested so informations about the landfill from Mr. Law and ask any questions about any uncertainties.

~18th June 2010~

Followed Mr. Law to 3 landfill sites - Pajam, Bukit Palong and Sua Betong located in Negri Sembilan.

~17th June 2010~

Went to a construction site at Taman Melawati to observe the hand-dug Caisson on a hill slope where is enaccessible by lage machines to do pilling.

Get to know how hand-dug Caisson is constructed with the method statement provided by GEOHAN Sdn. Bhd., a specialist in all types of pillings including hand-dug Caisson.

~14th June - 16th June 2010~

Continued with the drainage design calculation.

Highlighted ou the high points and the low points to determine the flow path of the water through the landfill.

Plateau drain and berm drain are not requuired to design as it will be constructed based on the site condition by the contractor.

To determine the size of the drains required, the total catchment area of the length of the drain have to be identify.

By using "Urban Storm Water Management Manual for Malaysia (Manual Salirann Mesra Alam Malaysia)", the size of the drain can be calculated.

~11th June 2010~

Followed Mr. Haizal to a construction site at Balai Seni Malaysia for site visit.

Mr. Haizal explained to us about the drainage project that hs is incharge with.

Met a resident engineer, Mr. Ng Keng Wai on the site and he brought us into the structure construction building to have a look at the progress and explained about the structure and some faulty works done by the contractor.

~10th June 2010~

Assists Mr. Haizal on drainage design for a landfill site located at Mat Kilau, Jerantut, Pahang.

Determined the layout of the drainage path and indicated the invert level of each sump.

~9th June 2010~

Worked on the level monitoring for 2nd Apron cargo of Penang International Airport.

Produced a clearer indication of settlement status in an A2 size layout plan.

~8th June 2010~

Finalised the pump station's calculation report for 2 different height of pump station.

=> 3.5m height and 2.5 m height pump station.

Printed out and ready for Ir. Ng Keng Keong to certify with his Professional Engineer's stamp and signature on the calculation report.

~7th June 2010~

Visiting Supervisor, Dr. Abdullahi came to Zaidun-Leeng Sdn. Bhd. to evaluate us and met with Ir. Ng Keng Keong, Infrastructure depertment's director to discuss the progress of the trainees for the past 2 months.

Continued to assist Mr. Law on the pump station's reinforced concrete wall calculation

~3rd June - 4th June 2010~

Assists Mr. Law in the pump station calculation report (taking the moment assuming the wall of the pump station is cantilever supported).

=> Pumpt stations of 3.5m height and 2.5 m height.

Read and study the book "Swimming Pool" borrowed.
